Threes haven’t been doing that well lately, but I’m a fan of the model so I’ve been picking up pairs even if they’re bricks. Enter the Air Jordan 3 Mocha.
These get their name from the colorway which originally released in 2001.
These shoes might come off as plain or “boring” but the white and brown opens these up to a lot of outfit possibilities. They look great with either blue or khaki denim in most shades. I’d avoid wearing black as it might clash with the dark brown elephant print on the sneaker. Regardless, colors like blue, tan, green and even pink would go well with a shoe like this. These also look great with just a plain grey or white tee.
This colorway is so clean, I knew I would eventually cop, and I did! I think the brown color of the kicks throws off a lot of collectors and makes the shoe look a little plain. But in this case, plain equals clean! I can see getting a lot of wear out of these in scenarios where I’m trying to wear Jordan 3s in a low key fashion.
How Are The Materials?
The materials here are surprisingly good, at least in terms of the leather. The grain on my pair seems consistent with regards to the tumbled finish, and overall I get a somewhat plush feel from the shoe. The suede/nubuck type material on the elephant print is nothing special. At the end of the day, I’m pleased with how these turned out!
How Do They Fit?
These Air Jordan 3 Mocha are comfortable at true to size. I’m not sure if the padding is different or if I’m imagining things, but these feel more padded to me underfoot. Oddly, I feel like these are more comfortable than other Air Jordan 3s I’ve purchased within the last couple of years.
